Live Global Broadcast from Jerusalem Unites Millions in Prayer on the DPPJ

At the Tayelet Haas Promenade in Jerusalem on Sunday, October 2, Dr. Robert Stearns and Eagles’ Wings hosted a powerful flagship event of the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem (DPPJ), broadcast live into nearly 200 nations by GOD TV. In an impressive expression of love for Israel and Jerusalem, celebrative worship and fervent prayers filled the open-air venue and the television airwaves, overlooking a breathtaking vista of the Old City of Jerusalem.

Present for the live broadcast were a host of special guests and dignitaries, including Dr. Juergen Buehler, International Director of the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem; MK Gila Gamliel, Deputy Minister in the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu; Rev. Rebecca Brimmer, International President and CEO of Bridges for Peace; Mr. Maher Canawati, Bethlehem Tourism Entrepreneur and Palestinian Arab Christian; Mr. Josh Reinstein, Director of Knesset Christian Allies Caucus; and Reverend Yonathan Wiryohadi, Sr. Pastor and Founder of Gereja Bethel Indonesia World Transformation Church.

In greeting those assembled and the global viewing audience, Rev. Robert Stearns boldly declared, “God is uniting people from all different backgrounds and from all different understandings, in prayer and faith, so that the atmosphere over this land will change, so that the climate over this city will change!”

Bringing special greetings from Israel’s Knesset, Director of Knesset Christian Allies Caucus Josh Reinstein stated to the audience, “Here in Jerusalem, the undivided capital of the state of Israel… we all know that the only answer [for Jerusalem] cannot be political, but Biblical. We need to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, we need to stand for Jerusalem, and we need to act for Jerusalem.” Deputy Minister to Prime Minister Netanyahu, Gila Gamliel, added, “In spite of continuous attempts [against the city], Jerusalem the city of God will never again be divided!”

Christian and Jewish speakers alike lifted up prayers for Jerusalem, including Palestinian Arab Christian entrepreneur Maher Canawati, who prayed, “God, Lord Jesus, we ask you to give our leaders wisdom to achieve peace [in Jerusalem].”

Adding a component of tangible support to the many prayers spoken on this day, during the broadcast Eagles’ Wings presented a check for $10,000 to partnering Israeli feeding centers that work among Israel’s poor. This action of support was the culmination of the generous gifts from believers worldwide to practically reach out to the poor in Israel. In addition, during the event, nearly 20 Christian pilgrims brought to Israel by Eagles’ Wings were officially commissioned as Watchmen on the Wall by the Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem Naomi Tsur.

The impact of the televised event was increased by the simultaneous participation of more than 300,000 church gatherings on the same day around the world to pray for Jerusalem, as well as prayer meetings on college campuses and a 24-hour Day of Prayer Conference Call that united intercession from many countries. Literally tens of millions of Christians joined together in blessing Israel, raising a united cry to heaven and throughout the earth for God’s Kingdom to come in Jerusalem in this important hour.
